- Mathematics preliminary course - Summer semester 2024Hide
-
In the summer semester 2024, the Institute of Computer Science offers a preliminary mathematics course for first-year students on the Bachelor's degree programs in Computer Science and Applied Computer Science.
In this preliminary course, the most important mathematical basics from the upper secondary school are repeated and deepened. The aim is to compensate for potential differences in students' previous knowledge and to fill any gaps in their knowledge. This ensures an optimal start to the course.
Topics
- Propositional and predicate logic
- Solving equations
- Set theory
- Functions
- Complex numbers
- Combinatorics
- Relations
Procedure
The topics are presented in compact form in lectures. There are exercises for each subject area, which are completed independently. This is followed by a discussion of the exercise to answer any questions that arise.More detailed information on the procedure and materials can be found in the e-learning course "Vorkurs Mathematik
